learning log May 24th
Hello! Today my parter and I talked about the project and talked over with the teacher as well. The three of us have now a general idea of how this is going to look. She sent us a very cool picture drawn be one of her friends. we will be using this as part of the card. I started editing the picture so it will blend and we could add text and the picture would not interfere with it. My friend created a brush using lines since we found in a tutorial that creating a brush would save us time. Honestly this is mostly what we did, since we spend some time waiting for an email and my friend had some other work to finish as well. We still need the info that would be going in the card. We have brainstormed more ideas and are slowly coming up with the right layout. We want this to end up looking really well since it is for our teacher :) Im sorry my log for today is rather short but there is not many things to write.
learning log May 22nd
Today I was not sure what I was going to do, so my teacher offered me some ideas since she needed help with some projects. I found one of them interesting and fun so me and a friend decided to work on it together. We looked for a layout and waited for some emails with information on what had to be written on the project. We did not do much but we talked it over and planned how we wanted this to look like. The final idea has not yet been laid out, but we will get there. I find the idea very nice and adequate. We are still wondering where exactly things are going to be placed but we managed to get a general idea. We will continue with this next class since my parter has some work to do.
Learning log May 16th
I had not done my learning log for a few days since I always end up finishing my stuff at the last minute, but today I am catching up.
I continued doing my picture with the watercolor tutorial since I did not like the way it looked. Truth is I still do not like it but it is all I could do.

as you can see it does look rather weird, I did not enjoy the brushes even though I downloaded many. I created a mask tool so I would reveal the image as I used the brushes. Then I added some color to make it look a bit more realistic. The background paper was also supposed to help make it realistic. I have noticed that even though I followed the tutorial it did not look the same way even when I followed it step by step. I guess the only problem I encountered was the brushes. My friend Karen gave me the advise to add more light to the figure that way it would pop out, so I did and I think it gave it a nice effect. I keep asking myself where I can find the brushes used in the tutorial..

learning log
Today I tried to do one of the tutorials but it did not work out. I could not find the brushes used in the tutorial so my picture ended up looking rather weird. I learned a new way to add watercolor effects to pictures. I had trouble with the brushes. It was a quick tutorial so I finished it today but I want to try it again and find the right brushes.

learning log May 10th
So today I caught up with my learning logs since I have not done them for three classes :/ but now I completed all of them. Today I also looked for another tutorial since I want to do something else, I am looking for something abstract. Our teacher showed us a book with art and cool ideas. I learned that I should do my learning logs every class because when they eventually pile up. Next class I will find my tutorial and get started.

Finally! I finished my project. I think I did very well, it sure looks familiar from the one in the tutorial. I only had trouble adding the last path, I do not know why it would not work, but I tried: this is what I could not add--->

As you can see I am only missing that last path which I am still wondering why it did not work.
I really like the effect of the eyes, I did not know how to do that, now I know :)
I definitely learned new thing with this tutorial. And I practiced using the pen tool and the blending options so now I know how to use them better.
I am hoping to find a new tutorial I will enjoy.

Learning log May 4th
As you know I am still working on my ironman tutorial, it is looking much better, I believe I will finish it next class. I moved on to part 2 of the tutorial. I had trouble with some of the blending effect because I could not place it where I wanted. I could not add one of the highlights because it would just not work.
This is the light I could not add to mine, but it ended up looking very similar.
Next class I will continue with the eyes. I think I am doing a good job so far. I am still using mostly the pen tool, shapes and blending options.

So today I continued my ironman using the pen tool and many blending effects. I feel like I keep learning the same thing with the tutorial because most of the process is using the pen tool and blending options. I created more layers adding more detail. I have trouble making the shapes, they are either to small or to big. I have been working all class on this because I wan to finish it soon to start something else.

- I made a puzzle from a picture

I learned how to create a puzzle texture with a picture making look like a puzzle .
That there are many textures and effects I can create and this way edit my pictures in a nice way.
